Joe Begos’ new film ‘VFW’ hits Theatres and VOD Valentine’s Day

Grizzled army vets square off against a deranged drug dealer and his relentless army of punk mutants in the new feature from Fangoria studios.

Described as THE WILD BUNCH meets NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, Director Joe Begos (Bliss, The Mind’s Eye) new film ‘VFW‘ follows Fred (Stephen Lang) and his military buddies (genre icons William Sadler, David Patrick Kelly and Fred Williamson) as they defend their local V.F.W. (Veterans of Foreign Wars) hangout from a deranged drug dealer and his relentless army of punk mutants on the bloodiest night of their lives. From the grim, brutal and bloody trailer (which you can watch below), ‘VFW‘ promises to be a throwback to grind-house cinema at it’s finest and the newest feature from the re-launched Fangoria Studios.

Shot on location at a real VFW hall in Grand Prairie, Texas, Begos‘ throwback to 70s exploitation shootouts (think ‘Assault on Precinct 13’) and 80s action horror (‘Class of 84’ anyone?) has been getting a ton of buzz on the festival circuit, and, with Horror genre heavyweight Fangoria behind the film, it’s sure to deliver enough glorious gore and scenery chewing villains to satisfy fickle fans. After his last feature BLISS landed on our 2019’s best of list, we’re counting down the hours until ‘VFW‘ is released and we can finally dive into Begos’ latest twisted, technicolour vision. ‘VFW‘ will be playing in select cites across the USA (sadly no international dates as of yet) and is available on VOD TOMORROW (February 14).
