RJL Films (the distributor of Mandy, Mayhem and other genre films recently acquired by AMC) has shared Matt Taylor’s vibrant and very trippy poster art for genre legend Richard Stanley’s forthcoming Color Out of Space, an adaptation of H.P Lovecraft’s short story starring Nicolas Cage that’s had everyone talking on 2019’s festival circuit.
“After a meteorite lands in the front yard of their farm, Nathan Gardner (Cage) and his family find themselves battling a mutant extraterrestrial organism as it infects their minds and bodies, transforming their quiet rural life into a technicolor nightmare.”
This is Stanley’s first horror feature since Dust Devil (1992) and his first Sci-Fi flick since seminal cyberpunk classic Hardware (1990). After famously vanishing after studio interference with his 1996 attempt at directing “The Island Of Dr. Moreau” doomed the movie to mega-flop history, buzz is high for a film we called “Filled to the brim with body horror using incredible practical effects that would make even Screaming Mad George blush” after it’s TIFF2019 screening. The “Color Out Of Space” cast also includes Joely Richardson, Madeleine Arthur, Brendan Meyer, Julian Hilliard, Elliot Knight with Q’Orianka Kilcher and Tommy Chong (in a scene stealing performance).
RLJ Films will be releasing the film on January 24, 2020. Check out the incredible poster and trailer below!
